Exploring Inner Worlds
This year we have a change to our normal programme and this NLP Seminar will be presented by Judith Lowe, Paddy Bergin and Mark Houghton! |
Modelling NLP into the fundamental structures of attention
While there are many descriptions of NLP: the study of subjective experience, the modelling of human excellence, and advanced communication tools, the teaching of it has been for the most part restricted to conscious techniques. There is an unstated assumption behind this that sufficient practice will, at some point, transform into conceptual competence. While this sometimes happens, it ignores the uniquely human capacity to reorganise perception: to actually see things one way and then another, as with an optical illusion.
Perceptual CyberneticsT utilises this capacity to move beyond NLP techniques to the perceptual unity found within each NLP model. Here we concentrate on sub-modalities. Each NLP model is a complete and coherent world with separate distinctions, elements and operators, as different from the other as a weather map is from a street map of the same territory. With Perceptual CyberneticsT, individual NLP techniques become positive examples in an individual's total attention potential. A perceptually based approach, once you have seen, you can't not notice. Rather than techniques, there are visible territories in mind with a multitude of choices for how to reach them.
This advanced workshop is a module of our Master Practitioner that we have opened up to a limited number of advanced students who wish to explore other people's abilities, either to acquire these for themselves or to enable others to acquire them.
